The Leadership Academy provides yearly scholarships to exceptional Rio Hondo College students that demonstrate leadership characteristics through campus and community involvement. This scholarship, created by Cohort 5 as their Campus Improvement Project, is fully funded by Leadership Academy Alumni.

Scholarship Amount: $250
Four scholarships totaling $1,000 will be awarded every year. Each semester, Fall and Spring, two recipient will receive the scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria:

  1. Must have 3.0 G.P.A. or higher
  2. Currently enrolled in 9 units or more
  3. Must currently hold a leadership position within a campus club/organization, student government, or currently involved in the Student Leadership Institute (SLI)
  4. Demonstrate past or current community service/involvement
  5. Exhibits leadership characteristics while committed to their education and/or volunteer work
  6. 1-3 letters of recommendation
